Introduction: Ulysse Richard
Greetings delegates!
My name is Ulysse and I am delighted to be one of your vice chairs for CCP this year. As an exchange student from France, this will be my only conference in Berkeley and I’m excited to make it count with you all!
Academically speaking, I study political science, asian studies and computer science and am applying for grad school in International security. Among my interests are ethnic conflits, ethics of technology, Asian geopolitics and China-related topics. You now understand why I am happy to discuss and hear what you guys have to say about Deng Xiaoping’s CCP!
Otherwise, it is on hiking trails, tennis courts or in the waves of the Bay Area that you are most likely to run into me outside the classroom. I also run a filmmaking company and will be taking photos during the conference, so don’t hesitate to ask for souvenir pics or to say hi and chat about anything!
My email is urichard@bmun.org, feel free to reach out if you have any question!
Looking forward to meet you all at Cal and have fun doing MUN!

Hello,
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to participating in the CCP committee as a delegate in a couple of months. I was wondering when and where will the position paper format be available?
Thank you,
Katherine Verrando
(Wu Xuiquan)
Greetings Katherine! Apologies for that, the guidelines will be posted to the BMUN website soon. Here is some of the relevant info
DeleteSpecifics on Topic A and Topic B:
Topic A should primarily center on national/industrial planning.
In particular, you should propose a five-to-ten year plan directing national industry in the direction you best see fit, which may incorporate elements of the Ten-Year Plan, the Sixth Five Year Plan, or aspects of other post-communist economic transition. Additionally, a major section of this plan should address the role SEZs will play (if any), including details such as the total number and all locations.
Topic B should primarily center on rural/agricultural planning.
In particular, you should propose a five-to-ten year plan directing agriculture. Here you will decide which degree to liberalize/decollectivize (if any), which will also entail determining the influence that the national leadership of the CCP will seek to maintain in rural areas and what said influence will look like. Your proposed solution should reference specific macro/micro economic systems.
A Note on Detail:
Some will find it difficult to research their delegates and/or will be unable to find detailed information concerning their delegate’s stance on the specific issues we will focus on. The dais will take this into account, but still expect detailed solutions which reflect historical developments before and after this iteration of the central committee. .
